1. XG series machining center

The German Ex-Cell-O company has developed the XG series machining center with the characteristics of the combined machine tool and machining center. It is a workpiece-feeding machine, also called a table-inverted machine. The principle is that the main shaft is mounted on the upper part of the machine tool and carries the workpiece upside down. All the movement axes (3 to 5 axes) are mostly concentrated on the main shaft. The tool is mounted on the lower part of the machine.

This type of machine tool first appeared in the "inverted car" more than ten years ago. The workpiece-feeding machine tool introduced here has revolutionized new developments: from the development of the vertical car to the machining center, with a set of arranging tools or power. Tool axis (see Figure 2). These tools are modular, set according to the processing requirements, and it is convenient to change the tool when the object is changed. For example, a turret tool holder for a horizontal CNC lathe (the turret is indexed to achieve a tool change, and the turret can also include a power tool holder such as a milling cutter shaft, a drill shaft, and a wire shaft). Place independent high-power milling cutter shafts, cylindrical grinding heads, internal grinding heads, honing heads, and laser heads, up to gears, and spiral hob shafts. In this way, it becomes a multi-function or multi-tasking machine (manufacturing unit) that can perform all machining (Done in One) except for the clamping base.

It is no longer limited to processing rotary parts, but also can process non-rotating parts, ie, rhomboid parts, such as plates, shells, boxes, cylinder heads, etc. and other special-shaped parts. The innovative features of XG series machining centers are as follows: The main shaft has a Z-axis and a C-axis, and the X-axis is moved by the slide table to realize a compact three-axis module. Second, the spindle carries the workpiece upside down, and the power vise grabs and clamps the workpiece. The tool axes are arranged in an aligned layout with a Y-axis and a B-axis. The X, Z, and C axes of the workpiece spindle, in conjunction with the Y and B axes of the tool axis, are sent to the individual tool axes placed in the lower part of the machine according to the NC programming instructions, and the 3 to 5 axes of different processes are processed. The tool axis includes a milling shaft, a multi-spindle head, a turning tool, and the like. Third, it is less than the combined machine tool axis, so the structure is simple and reliable; it is more efficient than the machining center, because the tool change time is saved. Fourth, the machine is especially suitable for the complete machining of complex auto parts. It is said that Zhejiang Wanxiang Group has purchased more than a dozen units for processing car universal joints.

2. Compact flexible automatic assembly line

TRIFLEX from Witzig & Frank, Germany, is a compact and flexible automatic assembly line with a small footprint. It consists of four modular machining centers around the central centralized logistics unit. It is suitable for small and precise automotive parts and many high-volume production lines. produce. The loading robot sends the blanks to the central centralized logistics unit and then to the first machining center. After completing this process, the central centralized logistics unit can be rotated to 90° (if 60 parts are rotated by 60 machining centers), then the work table (tray) placed on it can be sent to the second machining center. , and so on, complete all processing. Each machining center is processed by beat flow, that is, one part is produced for each production cycle (in minutes and seconds). The production cycle of the two automotive parts in Figure 3 is 30s and 55s each.

TRIFLEX is a wonderful and minimalist innovation for traditional flexible automated assembly lines. Compared with the traditional flexible automatic assembly line, the logistics system (raw material processing, storage, loading and unloading device, workpiece transfer device between machine tools) is very simple, and the work table (tray) and octagonal rotary tool magazine are also very simple.
