The increase in nitrogen and molybdenum levels significantly improves the resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in halide media. Alloys with lower nickel nitrogen content reduce the tendency of intergranular phase precipitation during hot working or welding, especially in halides. The medium has outstanding local corrosion resistance and excellent mechanical properties.

Corrosion resistance

Processing

Thermal processing

1. The temperature range is 1200 °C ~ 900 °C , and the cooling method is water quenching or rapid air cooling.

2. When heating, the material can be directly sent to the furnace that has been heated to the highest working temperature, after sufficient time of heat ( per 100mm   The thickness requires 60 minutes of holding time ) to be quickly discharged and subjected to hot working in a high temperature range of a prescribed temperature range. When the material temperature drops below the hot working temperature, it needs to be reheated.

3. For best performance, solution treatment is required after hot working.

Cold working

1. Like all austenitic chrome-nickel stainless steels, the alloy has a high work hardening rate, so the processing equipment needs to be selected. The cold worked material shall be in a solution heat treated state, and an intermediate annealing shall be performed when the cold working amount is large.

2. If the cold working amount is greater than 15% , the workpiece needs to be subjected to secondary solution treatment.

Welding process

Suitable for welding with the same material or other metals using any conventional welding process, pulsed arc welding is the preferred solution.

Welding must be carried out in a solution treated state, and stainless steel wire brushes are used to clean up stains, dust and various marks. If the lining is welded, the best care must be taken to get the best quality. It is recommended to perform the inner liner welding in the second step after the base welding, and some applications are to put the inner liner in the next step, depending on the actual situation. The color produced by the weld heat affected zone should be brushed with stainless steel when the weld zone is not cooled.
