The Microelectronics Research Center (IMEC) and 16 partners have jointly launched the EU's Seventh Framework Program X10D project to develop a new series of organic solar cells. In addition, the project ensures that the minimum lifetime of organic solar modules on glass substrates is 20 years, the minimum lifetime of organic solar modules on metal foil substrates is 10 years, and the production cost can be reduced to less than 0.70 euro/Wp.
