The French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy announced an emergency recovery plan for the domestic photovoltaic industry, including the introduction of new policies to support the domestic solar energy industry. The proposal included the final report of the Paris Environment Conference two weeks ago.

The French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy aims to promote the further development of the photovoltaic industry by tendering new large roof projects by the end of 2012. The Ministry will also focus on the development of power plant projects that use innovative technologies and promote local economic development.

In addition, the ministry also announced that it will substantially increase the feed-in tariff for small-scale residential PV systems. BIPV PV systems installed on buildings and on non-residential buildings will receive a 10% subsidy award, but will also depend on the origin of the components of the PV modules.

The ministry also stipulates that the reduction of on-grid tariff subsidies should not exceed 20% per year.
