Duplex Stainless Steel Overview
Duplex Stainless Steels, also referred to as austenitic-ferritic stainless steels, are a family of grades with about equal proportions of ferrite and austenite. These steels have a duplex microstructure which contributes to their high strength and high resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Due to their high content of chromium, nitrogen and molybdenum, duplex steels offer good resistance to local and uniform corrosion. Duplex stainless steels have good weldability.
Today, modern duplex stainless steels can be divided into three groups:
Of the duplex grades, duplex 2205 is the most widely used. However, the super duplex steels like Zeron® 100 and LDX2507 are excellent for servicing severe corrosive environments, such as offshore and marine applications. Lean duplex 2101 is available as an economic alternative to 300 series stainless steels.

Assembly drawings are very important in general mechanical drawing operations. In addition to clearly showing which parts are used in the drawing, it is also necessary to visually reflect the occlusion relationship between the parts used. Many designers need to manually delete or trim the graphics to present the actual positional relationship between the parts when drawing the assembly drawing, which is time consuming. In this regard, Zhongwang CAD Mechanical Edition provides a blanking function to help achieve this assembly effect.
The graphic objects in the assembly drawing are divided into two categories: standard parts and non-standard parts. The following is an example of how to quickly process the accurate occlusion relationship by standard and non-standard parts, and introduce the practical application of the blanking function of Zhongwang CAD mechanical version in the assembly drawing.
First, the rapid blanking of standard parts
Zhongwang CAD Mechanical Edition provides a complete national standard library for mechanical use. It has very good practicality in the call of standard parts. The most obvious one is the fastener.
We call a bolt and a nut that fits it. At this time, the blanking of the assembly relationship can be performed by the blanking option in the standard parts library. As shown in the figure below, after calling the nut, check [Background Blanking] in the outbound selection.

After the nut is called, the base point of the assembly is selected and the software automatically prompts "Is there an inner contour". Need to emphasize that "no inner contour" does not mean that the blanking part is deleted, but it is occluded and not displayed. The occlusion portion of the inner contour can be re-controlled or not displayed by the layer switch of the "blanking layer" in the layer.

If you choose no inner contour, you can get the correct assembly relationship between the bolt and the nut. All standard parts in the Zhongwang CAD mechanical version of the library can be quickly "blanked" by the same operation, so as to obtain an accurate positional relationship expression.

Second, the blanking of non-standard parts
Of course, the graphics drawn in the assembly drawing are not necessarily standard parts. For the non-standard parts inserted or drawn, we can use the [Blanking Function] (shortcut command "XY") in the blanking menu of the Zhongwang CAD mechanical version to perform the blanking of the graphic.
As shown in the figure below, the two rectangles are intersected together, and the content of the occlusion part is blanked.
First analyze the properties of these two rectangles, there are three cases:
1) Two graphics are blocks
2) The two figures are rectangular (polyline)
3) Two graphics are basic primitives (lines)
In either case, you need to execute the blanking command and select the one that covers the top. (The block or polyline is better to choose. If it is the basic element, you need to select four lines to form a closed graph.) The operation is similar to the standard parts. The blanking effect is also divided into a display form of inner contour and no inner contour, and the display of the inner contour is also controlled by the blanking layer.
