The double column adsorption dryer drying cycle - saturated compressed air enters the dryer and is distributed to the appropriate drying tower through the inlet flow valve. The right tower intake valve is activated to the closed position to prevent airflow into the regeneration tower. Similarly, the left tower intake valve is activated to an open position to allow airflow into the drying tower.

The saturated compressed air enters the dryer and is distributed to the appropriate drying tower through the intake flow valve. The right tower intake valve is activated to the closed position to prevent airflow into the regeneration tower. Similarly, the left tower intake valve is activated to an open position to allow airflow into the drying tower. At this point, the left tower regeneration exhaust valve is activated to a closed position to prevent compressed air from being vented to the atmosphere. As the compressed air is forced to flow through the desiccant in the left column, the process of removing moisture from the gas stream begins to occur by adsorption. During the adsorption process, the dry material draws water from the compressed air and holds it until the left column drying cycle is completed. Compressed air flows out of the drying tower for delivery for processing. The exhaust check valve controls the switching between the dry compressed air of the two towers to the exhaust port of the dryer.

Double tower adsorption dryer regeneration cycle

The water vapor adsorbed from the compressed air in the previous drying process is desorbed from the desiccant during the regeneration to dehumidify. The first stage of regeneration is the pressure relief of the tower. Once the intake valve is switched, the corresponding regeneration exhaust valve is simultaneously opened, and the compressed air in the regeneration tower is discharged from the tower, and the regeneration tower begins to relieve pressure. During the pressure relief process, most of the water vapor adsorbed from the front will be stripped from the desiccant and discharged into the atmosphere.
